Phillipa Gage Lilienthal


Phillipa “Pippa” Gage Lilienthal is Counsel at Schwartz Hannum PC and a member of the Firm’s Labor and Employment and Education Practice groups.

Pippa advises many of the Firm’s non-profit clients, including educational and cultural institutions, on a variety of governance matters, including best practices in Board governance, risk management, handbooks, bylaws review and other compliance issues. She provides counsel to the Firm’s education clients on a wide array of issues, crafts and implements policies and practices for the School community, and guides clients through internal investigations and responses to allegations of misconduct. She also represents the Firm’s corporate and education clients on a broad range of employment matters involving federal, state, and local labor and employment laws including employment disputes, claims of discrimination, regulatory inquiries, harassment and wrongful termination, wage and hour issues, whistleblowing, drafting and negotiating employment and severance agreements, litigation, and other claims and investigations.

Prior to joining the Firm, Pippa was Counsel in the Litigation, Securities Enforcement, and White Collar groups of the Boston office of WilmerHale, LLP, where she served for six months as Special Assistant District Attorney in the Somerville division of the Middlesex District Attorney's office. She was also an associate professor of European Union Law and Comparative Law at Burgundy School of Business in Dijon, France and Counsel at a Vermont Firm specializing in employment law and litigation.
