Counsel

Jacqueline (“Jackie”) Fogg is Counsel at Schwartz Hannum PC and a member of the Firm’s Labor and Employment and Education Practice groups. She counsels a variety of clients, including corporate businesses, non-profit organizations, and educational institutions on all aspects of the employer-employee relationship. Jackie has extensive experience representing and counseling multi-state clients with respect to state-specific issues.

As part of her practice, Jackie regularly advises clients on implementing practices and policies for compliance with federal and state labor and employment laws, as well as best practices for each client’s specific industry. These areas include: conducting interviews; hiring and onboarding; reference and background checks; employee classifications; employee performance improvement plans and management; leaves of absence and accommodation requests; employee terminations and reductions in force; and separation agreements. Jackie counsels clients in matters involving employment discrimination; wage and hour issues; harassment claims and investigations; and crisis management.

Jackie works closely with clients to develop and update fundamental organizational documents, such as, employee, faculty, and staff handbooks, applications, employment agreements and offer letters, background check forms, job descriptions, and leave and accommodation forms. She partners with clients to ensure that such documents comply with applicable law and best practices, while accurately reflecting the organization’s business and culture.

Jackie also handles numerous student-focused matters for independent schools and other educational institutions. She advises clients on admissions applications and processes, enrollment agreements, child abuse and neglect reporting, health and safety practices, and risk management for off-campus trips.

Jackie is a frequent presenter on labor and employment law issues.
