Our approach to attorney recruitment and professional development places an emphasis on exceptional academic credentials, the right experience, and teamwork. Work Environment
Schwartz Hannum PC is committed to balancing personal and professional obligations. We are absolutely dedicated to serving the needs of our clients, and we also understand that attorneys have commitments outside of work. Thus, we do our best to help foster an office environment where attorneys and staff achieve a high level of professional success and satisfaction and also are able to enjoy their lives outside the Firm.
Attorneys and staff at the Firm enjoy a strong sense of camaraderie and trust among their peers. Our Firm culture fosters a collegial environment and does not focus on unrealistic expectations and demands.

Compensation and Benefits
The Firm offers competitive salaries and benefits. Schwartz Hannum PC offers exceptional health, retirement, and long-term care benefits. We offer Blue Cross Blue Shield health insurance, as well as life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, a long-term disability group plan, and short-term disability insurance.

Also, we offer paid vacation, paid holidays, and a 401(k) plan with matching contributions. The Firm provides a highly competitive leave policy following birth or adoption.
The Firm pays for attorneys’ membership dues for appropriate bar associations, and also provides a budget for attorneys’ use in attending appropriate CLE programs.

Professional Development
The Firm is committed to the professional development and success of each one of the Firm’s attorneys and staff. All employees are encouraged to participate in professional development programs, enabling them to exchange ideas and to enhance their knowledge and skills. In addition, outside consultants bring special expertise and perspectives to the program. Our lawyers also have the opportunity to attend and participate in educational conferences sponsored by bar and other trade associations across the country.

As a part of the Firm’s investment in the professional growth of each individual attorney, each year the Firm provides an established “CLE budget” for each attorney (pr-rated for attorneys working part-time or only part of the year), which can be used in a variety of ways for professional development.

The Firm also honors its commitment to continued excellence and professional development and teamwork by hosting an off-site Attorney Retreat each year. (Every year since 2001, the Attorney Retreat has been held on Nantucket.) The focus is on personal and professional development. In addition to the business and educational sessions, the Retreat offers a variety of activities to give our lawyers the opportunity to get to know each other both personally and professionally.
